10 Most Devastating Finishers In WWE Today
2. The Red Arrow - Neville
It’s rather surprising to think that a man who - up until
his recent dismantling of the Cruiserweight Division – has long been thought of
as ‘The Man That WWE Forgot’, possesses one of the most protected finishing
moves in WWE. Only Luke Harper has ever managed to kick out of Neville’s
acrobatic assault, and that was on a throwaway episode of NXT back in 2013.
In terms of main roster canon though, The Red Arrow has bested every opponent who’s ever received it. It nearly cost John Cena his United States Championship in 2015, were it not for the interference of a conniving Bulgarian Brute.
It’s odd for a top rope finisher to be so vehemently protected in today’s WWE landscape. Real world logic dictates that a regular diving splash would have the exact same level of impact as The Red Arrow, and that Neville’s impressive rotation doesn’t actually make the move more dangerous. But real world logic has very little bearing on a great finishing move, and The Red Arrow is still one of the most devastating and aesthetically impressive moves in WWE today.
