4. Jeff Hardy's P*ss-Soaked Comeback

To recap, WWE ran weeks and weeks of hype videos for Jeff Hardy's return, positioned Sheamus as a bully who was frustrated by his spotlight, had Jeff mow down Elias and write him off telly, then booked Hardy to throw p*ss in Sheamus' face.

What a whirlwind. What a mishmash of kayfabe and real life issues.

The main dispute here isn't that WWE chose to incorporate Jeff Hardy's very-real personal demons into a SmackDown storyline. Jeff is a grown man who obviously didn't have a problem with it - if he did, it's doubtful the company would press ahead. Still, it was such a disappointment to see a realistic tale get ruined by toilet humour.

The pee pee angle totally undermined the seriousness of a story WWE were already struggling with. They should've let the feud play out under the guise of Jeff's remorseful promises (like the early hype vids showed) rather than chucking urine about the place.
