Truth be told, if this was a list of pure dominance as opposed to the tyranny of numbers, Ronda Rousey would be way up in the upper echelons, as opposed to slumming it down here in the early stages. A truly revolutionary presence in the history f combat sports, Rousey took to pro wrestling like the proverbial duck to water, albeit a duck that could smash your teeth out of your skull and break any of your limbs at a moment of her choosing. That's some duck.

Ronda Rousey was only WWE RAW Women's Champion for 231 days but she did more for that title in that time than many champions have done in far longer reigns. Rousey was dominant in a way that no other champion before her had been. She claimed to be the baddest woman on the planet and she had the legitimate credibility to back it up. Of course Ronda was a longtime champion; who could possibly beat her?

Ronda Rousey only suffered one pinfall defeat in her entire WWE run. Going one step further, she only lost two matches in total, one of which was a tag team in which her partner (Natalya) took the fall. That is real dominance.

Rousey didn't just beat her opponents, she destroyed them. Sure, she had the occasional 10-minute match on pay-per-view, but the majority of her matches were squashes that lasted seconds. She wasn't being paid by the minute.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
