9. Kane & Tori

Life for Kane has always been quite hard, and the last thing he needs is a girlfriend with her own serious issues. Kane needs a stable rock and, in 1999, it seemed as though he had found just that in Tori - but their joy was fairly short-lived.

Kane was helpless as his love lost a match to X-Pac of all people, the Mean Street Posse thwarting his attempts to intervene. Kane would go on to lose a match to then WWF Champion Big Show, with the stipulation that if he was unsuccessful Tori would have to spend Christmas with X-Pac.

Luckily for Kane, X-Pac was a true gentlemen and Tori returned unscathed. Well, she returned completely paranoid, and Kane was to unleash physical hell upon anyone Tori felt was getting a little too close to her. It also transpired that X-Pac had been a perfect gentlemen only if one had a particularly bad definition of 'gentlemen'. Tori revealed that she was leaving Kane, and leaving the Big Red Monster for Mr. Waltman.

Kane was tied up at the time too. That's no way to lose a girl.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
