The old version of NXT was taped in large venues before the WWE SmackDown tapings and used the universal WWE HD set from 20102012. Fans who attended those events were admittedly lucky to come out alive. Imagine sitting there for over four hours of old NXT and SmackDown, otherwise known as utter pointlessness. When WWE revamped the show, they moved the tapings to Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida, with the venue known as Full Sail Live. WWE gave students at the university roles behind the camera as part of their course while dropping the gameshow style for a more traditional wrestling show. After airing on WWE.com for a prolonged period of time, the first unofficial episode of the new NXT aired on Hulu Plus on September 26, 2012.
