10 Most Insane Things WWE Has Done In The Empty Arena Era

9. Raw Underground

This could be good! Once it gets out of the realm of weird squashes and hollow objectification, there's real potential in a section of Raw each week that makes different stylistic choices and allows shooter style wrestlers to show off their full range.

But right now? Raw Underground is absolutely bizarre and fascinating. Everyone's favourite MMA connoisseur Shane McMahon returning to television after almost a year to introduce a largely undefined basement Brawl for All with no tournament format, titles or purpose at all beyond the desire to fight?

There are definitely positives to be found in the idea, but right now, it's a bewildering first draft that's very very funny. Looking at the former Babatunde squashing jobbers next to Shane as half-naked women dance on the sidelines is surrealist imagery and would sound utterly insane to everyone before the Empty Arena Era started. If there are more defined rules/stakes and it leans into the MMA influence for competitive matches, Raw Underground could capitalise on the appeal of GCW's Bloodsport events.

But at the worst time for ratings in the history of Raw, it is remarkable that their plan to reignite viewership is introducing a Shane McMahon owned fight club.
