10 Most Mind-Boggling Releases WWE Just Announced
5. Karrion Kross
Oh, now we’re into the really big head-scratchers on this
list.
WWE cut Karrion Kross off at the knees the moment he debuted on Raw, then made it worse when they dressed him up like the kid brother of Demolition. But the company kept tweaking and repackaging him, airing a series of vignettes where Kross seemed to embody Sean O’Haire’s old “devil’s advocate” character. As long as WWE kept trying, that meant they were invested in him, right?
Wrong.
Kross’ release (along with his fiancée Scarlett) ends a months-long, breathtaking screwup of epic proportions, as NXT spent more than a year building an entire package with the pair – a cinematic entrance, wonderful presentation – and Vince McMahon and company stripped it all away, separating Kross and Scarlett, ditching the mesmerizing entrance and then having him lose his debut match.
His release is still astounding given that WWE was in the midst of repackaging him.
