10 Most One-Sided Brutal Beatdowns In UFC History
4. Brock Lesnar Vs. Frank Mir II - UFC 100
When Brock Lesnar took on Frank Mir for the UFC heavyweight title at UFC 100, fans were completely split down the middle as to who they believed would walk away with the win.
The longtime, diehard mixed martial arts fans prayed that Mir would get another victory against Lesnar after submitting him with a toehold at UFC 81. However, the fans that Lesnar brought over from the WWE were desperate to see him retain the heavyweight title.
The anticipation for this battle of the big men was palpable, but in the end, it turned out that the two weren't as evenly matched as many believed. Lesnar had had only one fight in his MMA career before being signed by the UFC and taking on the vastly more experienced Mir. With a couple more bouts under his belt, he was an entirely different beast.
Using his collegiate level wrestling and improved submission defence, Lesnar stifled Mir's ground attacks and relentlessly punished him with ground and pound from the top position. The former UFC heavyweight champion was absolutely helpless as Lesnar used his gigantic fists like a hammer and smashed Mir's face into a bloody, bruised mess.
The mixture of Lesnar's perfect tactics along with the ferocity of the beating he dished was too much for Mir, who lasted less than two minutes into the second round before the referee ended the fight in Lesnar's favour.
