10 Most One-Sided Brutal Beatdowns In UFC History

3. Jon Jones Vs. Shogun Rua - UFC 128

Ever since he had his first for the UFC at UFC 87, fans knew that Jon Jones was something special. Long and dangly, yet explosive and vicious, the young man from Rochester, New York, was destroying any opponent the UFC put him with.

However, when he was asked to step-in at late notice to take on UFC light heavyweight champion Mauricio Rua, many believed that it might be a step too far for him. Those who had doubts were extremely wrong as Jones put on a career-defining performance against the legendary Brazilian.

From the moment the fight began, Jones proved his dominance, battering the champion with flying attacks, crushing elbows and devastating strikes. Eventually, after landing a brutal left body punch and a knee straight up the middle, Rua crumpled to the ground completely destroyed.

At 23-years old, Jones put a career-changing beating on Rua, who was never quite the same again after what was done to him during this particular fight.
