10 Most Pathetic Wrestling Insults Of All Time

2. CM Sucks

Another recurrence of the dreaded "more like" patter, of course this was John Cena's stock in trade for the million f*cking years he was on top.

The idea behind his long-running feud with CM Punk was fantastic, particularly from the perspective of the long-suffering millennial fan: Vince McMahon's immovable hand-picked platonic ideal versus the guy you liked more, who was better in the ring, and who channeled your frustrations. He was your guy. In what was a more naive time, it felt like he could be the guy, full stop, if you complained enough online.

In the ring, it was seminal at its peak, and never dipped below tremendously exciting, even if the work was sloppy.

The early promo work was adventurous, compelling, almost cruel in how it suggested fundamental change with no actual intent on delivering it, but reductive history will always gloss over that some of it was atrocious - like Cena referring to his arch-rival as "CM Sucks".

A witless insult that barely even qualified as a pun, much less something that would even vaguely hurt the recipient, that was John Cena at his worst.
