Regular WWE fans may not have wanted The Great Khali anywhere near the World Title, but a fair few of those same people probably enjoyed seeing the hard-working Christian finally fulfil his childhood ambitions at Extreme Rules 2011.

Defeating Alberto Del Rio in a Ladder Match after replacing a retired Edge, 'Captain Charisma' had made it to the top. Mere days later, he was staring at the lights for Randy Orton on SmackDown, right before turning heel on Orton for shattering his dreams.

Christian did have another 28-day stint with the belt that summer. Sadly, that one was even more fruitless than his first reign, because it existed only so Orton could win a 'No Holds Barred' match at SummerSlam and end his peer's association with the main event scene.

WWE clearly didn't see Christian as a singles star worthy of the World Heavyweight Championship, so why even gift the Canadian two short stints with the title in the first place? The entire exercise reeked of hot shot booking.
