8. Juice Robinson
In hindsight, yes, Juice Robinson shouldn't qualify for lists such as this. He's signed on full-time with All Elite Wrestling following a flourishing career in New Japan Pro-Wrestling, but for a the time the Bullet Club man appeared lost on his travels.
Not only did the former CJ Parker get announced for the 28 September 2022 Dynamite out of the blue, but he did so in a World Title Eliminator match vs. Jon Moxley.
Mox!
The face of the promotion, the AEW World Champion, the guy. Juice Robinson didn't have an easy start in the company, though he held his own against his old IWGP United States Heavyweight Title flame. Not many performers can say they've executed their finish on Moxley in their AEW debut, garnering a 2.9999 count off the back of it. Juice had to be battered into oblivion with a charcuterie board of violent offence before he gave up. He embodies the fighting spirit needed to succeed in the land of Jon Moxleys and yet somehow, he's a conniving, cool, cocky heel.
That Juice was signed off the back of this seemingly last-minute concoction is impressive; he was only made aware of the bout days beforehand as he detailed to Inside The Ropes:-
"Yeah, I kind of got the call last minute. I believe it was the Friday before Dynamite, yeah, Rampage. The afternoon before Rampage, I was actually in Nashville. They asked me if I wanted to fight Jon Moxley, well you don’t need to ask me twice. Yes, sir. I do every day, you know, twice on Sunday. I got scars from that guy, so I’ll fight him, especially on TV, especially for AEW, that’s the hottest thing, you know, and he’s the hottest guy so yeah."
