Perhaps the most redeeming quality about the McMahon family is their ability to suddenly turn the tables. Fans will go into an episode of Monday Night Raw believing it will go one direction when out of the blue, everything goes the other way. It's that ability to keep them on their toes and constantly keep them guessing that makes the crowd come back for more. This fact was on display back in July of 2011, when Triple H interrupted Vince in the ring and gave him some very startling news. The man that had taken the company from the territory days to the worldwide stage was actually being fired from weekly TV; it was a decision reached by the Board of Directors and the McMahon family itself. Vince had been such a presence on Raw and SmackDown for so many years and now that was coming to an end. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=obH6Wvunxas The "firing" was of course just a storyline point, one that came after Vince's apparent mishandling of the CM Punk situation. Punk had dropped the pipebomb that year, threatened to leave the company with the WWE Championship and he did just that. Vince could not get control of Punk and bit by bit, the problem took over until he just could not handle it anymore. The move was genius in that it allowed Vince to take a step back, giving his son-in-law Triple H the spotlight. Hunter began his run as WWE's primary authority figure on TV and Vince exited to the cheers of the crowd. It also opened the door for many new angles that ultimately led to the formation of The Authority.
