3. Ric Flair vs. Shawn Michaels (WrestleMania XXIV)
One of the most iconic moments in recent WWE history, when Shawn Michaels mouthed the words, "I'm sorry, I love you" right before he nailed Ric Flair with a poignant Sweet Chin Music, tears welled up in the eyes of millions. It was the end of a lengthy, historic career for 'The Nature Boy', and what better a stage to go out on than WrestleMania. Apparently, Flair was serious about never wrestling again, but he would renege on that promise, turning out just over one year later to face Hulk Hogan on a specially-promoted 'Hulkamania' tour, later working matches for TNA. Vince McMahon must have been scratching his head, because he gave Flair one heck of a send off in 2008. Even though people knew it was the right result, fans really wished that Ric Flair could overcome the odds and keep on going. A storyline that had him promising to retire the next time he lost had been tremendously effective, never more so than at 'Mania XXIV.
