10 Most Stacked Cards In UFC History
8. UFC 187 (2015)
This card was quite simply brimming with talent and could have been even better had Rose Namajunas vs. Nina Ansaroff not been called off, Jon Jones not been involved in a hit-and-run incident and Khabib Nurmagomedov not injured his knee.
But no matter, what we were left with on the night still managed to deliver the goods.
Early on you had Islam Makhachev besting Leo Kuntz via rear-naked choke, which was followed up by Colby Covington winning his contest against Mike Pyle, Uriah Hall being on the losing side of his clash with Rafael Natal, Dong Hyun Kim taking down Josh Burkman with an arm-triangle... and that was just the prelims!
On the main card, Flyweight Joseph Benavidez earned the unanimous decision victory against John Moraga, Andrei Arlovski conquered Travis Browne in the first round of their titanic Heavyweight battle, Lightweight Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone got the better of John Makdessi (Khabib's substitute) with a surreal second round head kick TKO - Makdessi called 'time out' soon after being walloped.
This all led up to an epic co-main/main double act of Chris Weidman vs. Vitor Belfort for the Middleweight title and Anthony Johnson vs. Daniel Cormier for Jon Jones' recently stripped UFC Light Heavyweight belt.
Weidman would eventually see off Belfort in the first round with some relentless ground and pound. Then, in a fascinating turn of events, Jones' replacement in his Light Heavyweight title fight vs. Johnson only went and won the vacant strap via third round rear-naked choke.
Despite lacking some of the biggest names in UFC history, this card still boasted a whole host of future stars/legends and some truly epic finishes.
