10 Most Successful WWE Diva Search Contestants Ever
10. Christy Hemme
This vivacious and vibrant red head literally bounced onto our screens during the 2004 Diva Search competition. With more energy than the rest of the other nine finalists combined, it was easy to see why Christy became hugely popular, eventually winning the $250,000 cheque and the title of Raw's newest diva. What she lacked in wrestling ability, she made up for with an abundance of charisma, becoming one of Raw's premiere divas throughout the next year. Christy had a memorable feud with the wonderfully devious, Trish Status, which led to Hemme competing for the Women's Championship at Wrestlemania 21. Christy had recently bared all for her Playboy shoot and cover and Stratus was furious that the Diva Search winner was stealing her spotlight. Despite having Lita in her corner, Christy failed in her attempt at becoming champ - a goal that would ultimately become unattainable. When Victoria transformed back into the psychotic gimmick we all loved in a glorious moment that saw her attack numerous Diva Search competitors, Christy was thrust back into a major storyline as she led the charge against the crazy former Women's champion. Coming up short, Christy would fail to receive another big push during her WWE tenure and in 2005, she was released from her contract. This was the first sign that it's not always the winning that's important; it's the taking part. A few months later, Hemme would find herself signed to TNA Wrestling, where she became a Knockout. As TNA began to really push women's wrestling - creating a major women's revolution themselves - Christy's skills as a wrestler began to steadily improve. Complete with a dazzling top-rope splits finisher, Christy became a consistent fixture of the Knockout division over the next couple of years. In 2009, Christy decided to retire from in-ring competition due to an injury, but she had in fact signed a multi-year contract to stay in TNA as a host and ring announcer - a role she still holds to this very day. She may not have captured any gold, and her WWE career was fairly short- lived, but Christy's dynamite personality and likeable qualities have kept her wrestling career going for over a decade - quite the rarity for women in the business.
