10 Most Underrated WWE SummerSlam Matches Of All Time

5. Lion's Den: Ken Shamrock vs. Owen Hart - 1998

It was one of the most unique matches in WWE history, not just SummerSlam. The fact that it was really entertaining makes it a no brainer as a match that is definitely one of the most underrated matches in SummerSlam history. The story was that Shamrock was the tough babyface going against a guy in Owen Hart who wanted to prove that he was as tough as him. They had Dan Severn helping Owen train for it too. The match was contested inside of a small cage called the Lion's Den, which was the facility that Shamrock trained in. It was like a UFC cage although not a big as a UFC ring is. Since it was difficult to have a match without ropes they did some different things like DDTs off the side of the cage and a cross body spot after leaping off the cage. Of course there were a lot of submission holds too. When Hart slapped on a Dragon Sleeper, Shamrock countered by climbing up the side of the cage. Shamrock put on the Ankle Lock, Severn walked away without helping out Owen and Owen tapped out to lose the match in about 10 minutes. The match was really entertaining. It wasn't easy to have a wrestling match in those elements, but Shamrock and Hart pulled it off.
