10 Most WTF Heel Turns In Wrestling History

5. Rikishi Does It For The Rock (WWF, 2000)

When Steve Austin was sidelined with a major neck injury in late 1999, the question of €œWho ran over Stone Cold?€ was a hot topic among wrestling fans. The storyline exit of Austin being hit by a car provided great potential for when he returned almost a year later. After Austin Stunnered everyone he could in October 2000 in order to find out who the culprit was it turned out that big, jolly Rikishi was the man behind the hit and run. He was revealed as the man behind the wheel and on an episode of RAW. His explaination for the vehicular assault? He "did it for The Rock€. That's right, folks, he tried to murder a man in the hope Dwayne would win the title. How sweet of him. Before this whole episode went down Rikishi was one of the most popular babyfaces in the company. His stinkface, dancing and charisma made him an integral part of the show, a red-hot midcard act, but after the heel turn he never really recovered. Sure, fans still popped whenever he'd rub his giant ass in an opponent's face, but he wasn't as over as he was in the first ten months of 2000. After feuding with The Rock (which he lost) he floundered as a heel before getting injured and returning as a good guy in May 2001, but it was never quite the same. The reaction was never the same, the push was never the same and it was all ruined by the ridiculous decision to have Rikishi be Triple H€™s accomplice.
