10 New Directions For WWE After Royal Rumble 2024

1. Cody Rhodes Finishing His Story

The final chapter of Cody Rhodes' emotional family journey shall be written.

Last year's loss to Roman Reigns at 'Mania 39 rocked a lot of folks. They figured WWE would move on from the thought of Cody beating the 'Tribal Chief' after that, but Rhodes pointed up at Reigns then the WrestleMania sign after winning his second consecutive Rumble over the weekend.

There's no 'who will he challenge?!' mystery to any of this. Cody is coming for Roman a second time, and he'll definitely get the job done in 2024. Then, and only then, Rhodes can look towards the sky and say: 'I did it, dad'. That'd make Dusty proud (as if he wasn't already proud of his boy).

WWE has roared Cody's story back into the lead heading through 'Mania, and they won't ease up on the gas until it drives over the finishing line. Good. That title-winning moment will be vindication for Rhodes' dejection in 2023, and it needs to happen.
