10 New Directions For WWE After SummerSlam 2025
Brock Lesnar's grand return plans, WWE ending factions and...Hell In A Cell?
Not many could've accurately called Brock Lesnar's controversial return on Sunday night.
That unpredictable moment capped off a memorable weekend for the company. Seth Rollins broke CM Punk's heart to cash in Money In The Bank and become World Heavyweight Champion, Cody Rhodes reassumed the throne as WWE Champ, John Cena is 100% babyface again, and then Brock smashed him with an F5. What does the future hold? Read on to find out.
There's a lot of guesswork in the following pages, obviously, and things will only become crystal clear over the next few weeks of television. Monday's Raw and Friday's episode of SmackDown will drop major clues about what's in store for Clash In Paris on 31 August, but beyond that? Things are looking spicy.
Triple H might already be putting building blocks in place for the traditionally hot Royal Rumble-WrestleMania sprint, but there's some tasty content to plough through before then. That's especially true at the top of the card - there's every chance that a huge grudge match will happen sooner rather than later, and it might rekindle some of the magic Punk worked with Drew McIntyre in 2024.
Elsewhere, Cody is showing signs of a change, and the Brock comeback will surely turn the clock back to WWE of yesteryear. Temporarily, at least. Tangling with old foe Cena might not be the only thing Hunter wants from Lesnar though.
So, here's where WWE's product turns next after back to back nights in New Jersey that arguably bettered what 'Mania 41 had to offer in April.

10. “We’re Not Friends” Ruling For A While
Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss were the right choice as winners on Saturday. Anyone disappointed that the Women's Tag-Team Titles changed hands should remember that Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez were only champs because of Liv Morgan's injury - getting the belts off of them and onto a clear focal point duo was always going to be necessary, and the "We're Not Friends" thing Alexa and Charlotte have cooking has been getting over on SmackDown.
There was a nice moment with Bliss accidentally clocking Flair too, which will surely come back up in their story eventually. Hopefully not for a while though, because these ladies have chemistry together. Also, this is the first time in living memory that Charlotte feels genuinely over as a babyface, so the writers have to keep that ticking for as long as possible.
Your new Women’s Tag-Team Champs should rule the roost for the rest of the year. After that, some tension will bubble to the surface (because that's typically the go to story for thrown-together tags in this division), and they'll probably build up to a match between Bliss and Flair at WrestleMania 42.
You just know a heel turn for one of them is incoming. It'll likely be Charlotte.
The tandem are experienced enough to work with pretty much anybody, and it'd be sweet to see them head over to NXT for a few matches too. Failing that, Flair and Bliss can match up well against all comers on the main shows. There are some seriously impressive Women's Tag Title bouts incoming, people.
