10 New Directions For WWE After SummerSlam 2025
5. Jelly Roll Getting Another WWE Match
Take a bow, WWE. That's how your format a celebrity match and make it watchable for over 15 minutes. Jelly Roll was heavily involved in his tag bout with Randy Orton vs. Logan Paul and Drew McIntyre from beginning to end, but the biggest spots smartly gave him extended rest periods so he could catch his wind and go again. Jelly was still obviously gassed, but he gave his all and should be proud of that.
Would anybody really be dead set against another match for him? It’d need to be carefully orchestrated, because he’s limited, but Jelly Roll vs. Logan Paul could actually work on PLE as a singles showdown if there are enough distractions, bells and whistles. Yeah, after watching him in New Jersey, everyone's got to believe that Jelly would redouble his efforts to give this wrestling thing another bash.
He wasn't quite Bad Bunny or Paul himself, but he didn't disgrace himself or look too out of place either. The agent responsible for laying this match out deserves a pat on the back come future WWE Unreal documentaries, and a raise for making it as watertight as it was. Anyone who's poling holes in Jelly's performance is just looking to hate it because he's a non-wrestler.
If Roll can work on his cardio a little more and perhaps learn another few holds/moves, then he could easily produce something worthwhile vs. Logan. Paul's all about those viral announce table bumps anyway, so as long as he gets one of those in he'll be happy.
