https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xipTqO6GBVw The Chokeslam is one of the most common moves in wrestling, due in part to its simplicity and appearance. The user simply grabs their opponent by their throat and lifts them and drops them down to the mat. It is more frequently used by taller wrestlers to sell the impact of the move; the taller the wrestler, the greater the elevation of the slam. Roman Reigns, however, isnt the tallest wrestler, standing at 63, so a regular Chokeslam wouldnt work for him. However, this variation would be different. Japanese wrestlers have a talent for making great improvements on pre-existing moves, and the Chokeslam is no exception. Legendary All Japan Pro Wrestler Akira Taue used the Chokeslam and innovated several different versions of it: A Back Suplex into a Chokeslam, a Hip Toss into a Chokeslam, a Rope/Apron Chokeslam, and of course, a Vertical Suplex into a Chokeslam. Arguably one of the most unique finishing moves in wrestling history, the Vertical Suplex Chokeslam, called Chichibu Cement by Taue, was used only once in the grapplers entire career. For Reigns to use such a move would truly get people talking. It could be portrayed as a never-before-seen maneuver in the WWE, which would be entirely accurate. The end goal of having Roman Reigns adopt a new finisher, one that would truly make him stand out not just among his extended wrestling family, but among wrestlers in general, would be complete.
