10 Next Booking Steps For Heel Roman Reigns In WWE
7. He DESTROYS Braun Strowman
With Bray Wyatt needing a convincing title reign, creative can use Braun Strowman's loss to shift their attention to setting up a feud between him and Roman. And the easiest way to kick that off is to have the 'Big Dog' demolish the 'Monster Among Men' after Payback, blaming him for Wyatt's successful retention and robbing him of another chance to be Universal Champion (the first being missing WrestleMania).
Yeah, on paper, a feud between these two does have a very 'been there, done that' sound to it, but if planned properly, it could end up being their best feud yet - and, funnily enough, the history between the two brutes is the reason why.
Their 2017 program was ridiculously fun in a balls-to-the-wall manner and Roman could pull from that to explain his actions. He could cut a promo about how it's Braun's fault that things started going wrong in his career, claiming that he should have been at the top of the food chain after beating The Undertaker at WrestleMania 33 but his wave of success was ruined by him. He could even throw in a line about how Braun's popularity at the time made him even more hated by the fans and that he deserved the adoration instead.
The history is there and, in order to overcome it once and for all, that history should take them to a very familiar place...
