10 NXT Gimmicks That Are Too Goofy For WWE's Main Roster

6. Aiden English

A self proclaimed actor and artist trained in the classics, Aiden English is doubt the perfect fit for Simon Gotch. These two heels know how to get heat from the fans, and they also love to brag and boast about how great they are. Whether they€™re together as a tag team or having separate matches, you can be sure to hear at least one €œoperatic€ song from Aiden before his match begins. Therein lies the problem with Aiden English€™s current gimmick; it€™s too one dimensional. It€™s understood that he thinks of himself as an actor, yet for some reason he continues to perform as a professional wrestling. Maybe the €œman of sophistication€ expects professional wrestling to be equal to classical theater one day (God help us when that day comes,) but at this point his one man act is getting little to no attention from the fans. It€™s easy to hate the guy, but it€™s also pretty easy to forget about him. Plus. a guy trying to sing in his tights in a wrestling ring? That's just plain goofy. Now that he's partnered up with Gotch, it's like he swapped one gimmick for another. Yet at the same time, he hasn't really changed anything that would make him appropriate as a future WWE Superstar. Could you imagine a wrestler like English or Gotch, as they currently look, main eventing WrestleMania? At best they would be thrown into a battle royal to kick off the show. It's been done before with past gimmicks, so here's hoping that WWE gets English a gimmick that's more down to Earth before he heads to the main roster.
