Perhaps no match on the entire SummerSlam card was as anticipated as the final showdown between AJ Styles and John Cena. Their "15 years in the making" feud may have been a bit overblown to start with, but the interplay between both men has been great. All that was left was the last battle.

It didn't disappoint. Though Cena and Styles went into their false finishes early, the match kept going until it was a classic. Cena kicked out of a Styles Clash and escaped from the Calf Crusher, while Styles survived the STF and an Attitude Adjustment off the top rope. A second Styles Clash put Cena down, and the Phenomenal Forearm gave Styles the clean win.

This match was exactly what it need to be - it was a great bout that put Styles over without any reservations. Smackdown has a new star (hopefully one who'll be WWE World Champion before long), and John Cena's story has taken an interesting twist.

Unfortunately, the show was all downhill from here.
