10 Outdated WWE Tropes That Need To Go Away

6. The Lights Out Spot

This is different to the teleportation spot. It’s fine when people like Undertaker or Bray Wyatt are teleporting about, they’ve got magic powers after all. But it doesn’t quite add up when people with no supernatural powers are also somehow able to do this.

A good example would be Sting on the go-home episode of Raw before WrestleMania 31. As Randy Orton was surrounded by the Authority, out went the lights, the crow sounded, and by the time we could see again, the Vigilante was stood there in the middle of the ring. Last we checked, Sting, while spooky, is not meant to be magical.

Perhaps the biggest reason for preserving this spot isn’t that it sucks, it’s because when done right it works brilliantly. Thus, keep it reserved for the right characters.
