10 Positives Heading Into WWE SummerSlam 2016

6. Eva Marie

I never thought I'd be writing this, but here goes... Another area of the show that’s been handled excellently, is the use of Eva Marie’s talents. Or, her lack thereof, depending on who you ask.

In fairness, though, Eva’s had her fair share of struggles in the ring, hence her return to the developmental ranks in the summer of 2015. And yet, regardless of whether or not those limitations remain, the SmackDown writers have made the very best of a bad situation in drumming up interest in Eva.

Her ridiculous excuses for being unable to compete have quickly become one of the more entertaining elements of SmackDown Live—particularly her traffic-related troubles on this week’s show.

They’ve somehow managed to get me, and I’m sure many others, interested to see what she does next at SummerSlam, and whether or not she’ll even turn up at all. And more to the point, they achieved that without her pulling out a single wrestling move inside the ring.

More great writing in what’s become an unexpectedly strong sub-plot ahead of this year’s SummerSlam showcase.
