10 Potential Opponents For CM Punk At AEW All Out 2022
2. Eddie Kingston
The CM Punk and Eddie Kingston feud of last year was an incredible example of how to tell a story between two fan favorites. Punk was at his condescending best during their promo exchanges but was so beloved by a portion of the fans that they would support him regardless. Meanwhile, Kingston was so apoplectic with Punk's attitude towards him that the rest of the fanbase rallied behind him in his pursuit to prove his enemy wrong.
The split reaction was measured perfectly and their match at Full Gear 2021 lived up to expectations and then some. The match was a quick and brutal brawl that displayed both men's willingness to destroy each other inside the ring. Punk's win ultimately set him on a course to the AEW World Championship, whilst Kingston meandered in the upper mid-card.
Allowing the 'Mad King' to have another shot at the world title in Punk's hometown, only to come up short once again would be a great next step in the feud. Kingston could then defeat his foe in his hometown of New York at AEW's big Grand Slam show in September in what would be one of the greatest crowd-pleasing title changes in recent history.
