Come on, you already knew that Muhammed Hassan was going to top this list.

WWE received a ton of backlash for daring to cast Hassan as a put-upon Muslim who wanted to battle increased prejudice following the real-life 9/11 terrorist attacks. As if that wasn't bad enough, a segment on SmackDown in July 2005 coincided with the London train station bombings.

All bets were off after that, and WWE realised they had to ditch the character ASAP. Hassan's last showing came against The Undertaker at the Great American Bash pay-per-view. There, he took a powerbomb through the stage and was shown switching underneath before cams cut to a Torrie Wilson promo.

WWE binned Muhammed full-time and sent the guy playing him (Marc Copani) back to developmental. They didn't even bother to repackage Hassan; Copani was released from his contract and left pro wrestling behind.
