10 Predictions For WWE SmackDown Superstar Shake-Up Tonight

6. The US Title Comes To Tuesday Nights

It has been widely speculated that Raw and SmackDown will swap midcard champions in the Superstar Shake-up, and this'll almost certainly be confirmed tonight. Dean Ambrose’s move to Raw leaves SD without the Intercontinental Championship, meaning that Kevin Owens’ switch to Tuesday nights is all but guaranteed.

KO is set to face-off against Chris Jericho at Payback, but this shouldn’t hamper any potential deal. The PPV already has one brand vs. brand bout in Bray Wyatt vs. Randy Orton, and there won't be anything stopping WWE from making KO vs. Y2J a second. Expect Owens to take the United States Title to SmackDown, successfully retain it against Jericho, and rebuild its reputation on the blue brand.

With Wyatt and The Miz gone, the pathway appears to be clear for Owens to become SmackDown’s top heel. Assuming SD don’t take booking notes from his awful Universal Title reign, KO will immediately become a huge threat on Tuesdays, and will benefit from a fresh set of challengers in Shinsuke Nakamura & co. Switching him almost makes too much sense at the moment, so here’s hoping WWE pull the trigger.
