10 Problems WWE MUST Solve Before Royal Rumble 2022

3. Stop The Hot-Shot Booking

Let's get this straight. Hotshot booking isn’t a good thing!

Sure, it's a thrill to see The New Day take on The Bloodline on RAW but does that really lend itself to effective storytelling? The story between those two factions should have been set up way in advance and paid off on a grand stage like Survivor Series.

Similarly, Big E versus Bobby Lashley may well draw big viewing figures for the first hour of RAW, but that doesn't serve the storyline. This match should be built to, with Lashley slowly regaining his confidence following the loss to Big E. Hot-shotting this match isn’t a great idea.

Despite what Seth Rollins said, fans DO like long term stories, especially around the Royal Rumble. Kofi-Mania, the rise of The Yes! Movement and John Cena's quest for a WrestleMania match were all built up. If WWE continues to hotshot matches onto RAW, they will run out of dream matches by 2022.
