10 Problems WWE Must Solve In The 2024 Draft

2. The ‘Wild Card’ Issue

Bless Kevin Owens for taking the p*ss out of the dire "Wild Card Rule" many moons ago. At one point, KO showed up on an opposing brand, announced himself as a "Wild Card", and then added: "...whatever that means anyway!". It was a blistering takedown of Vince McMahon's Draft-breaking get out clause.

Triple H would be doing himself a massive favour if he sidestepped talk about "Wild Cards", "Superstar Shakeups" or any other excuses for thumbing his nose at the Draft. If WWE can't plot out at least 9-12 months of stories without moving pieces across the board, then they shouldn't bother holding a Draft that locks wrestlers in on specific shows in the first place.

Backing themselves into a corner would be unwise, and that's why serious thought and careful consideration should be given to each pick. No-one wants to see wrestlers appear as "Wild Cards" a fortnight after the 2024 Draft, put it that way.

It renders the whole thing pointless.
