10 Problems WWE Solved With The 2019 Superstar Shake-Up

5. The NXT Logjam

NXT is wonderful, but the developmental brand had way too many wrestlers on its books prior to WrestleMania 35 weekend. There are over 100 men and women in the Performance Center at the moment. Only a few dozen were making television, but the bloat created a serious logjam up and down the card, leaving talented performers like Keith Lee, Dominik Dijakovic, and Mia Yim stranded with nothing to do.

Ricochet, Aleister Black, and Kairi Sane are excellent wrestlers who were as good for NXT as NXT was for them. But their time had come. Each had accomplished everything the possibly could on the black-and-gold brand, and in sticking around, they were only taking up spots that could have belonged to those who needed them more.

Sane was written out after the last set of TV tapings, while Black and Ricochet are already gone. This should create opportunities in both mainline singles titles divisions. We could say the same of The Viking Experience as well, though it felt like NXT's writers were only getting started with them as the tag scene's leading lights.
