Normally, when a wrestler is made a persona non grata by WWE, they tend to just ignore them completely, removing their face from any and all promotional material, and banning the use of their name in future promos.

With Ultimate Warrrior, however, the approach was very different. WWE, presumably under the instruction of the chairman of the board, actually took a pot shot at him with the release of the "The Self-Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior" DVD in 2005.

In it, talking heads including Triple H absolutely savaged his reputation within the business, decrying him as unprofessional and, in effect, looked to downplay his contribution to the WWF's formative years.

All of this animosity suddenly fell away in 2014, when Warrior was invited to WrestleMania XXX to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. It turns out that time really does heal all wounds (well, time plus money anyway: ithe intervention of 2K has a lot to do with sealing his comeback).
