The return of Daniel Bryan was one of the hot tips for the Royal Rumble, but ultimately it didn't transpire. That doesn't necessarily mean plans weren't in place, it could be the case that WWE felt his return would have more focus elsewhere, at the Seattle Raw this Monday perhaps? The fact is, Bryan is better used on a Raw episode in which he can be the huge talking point of the week. Had he returned at the Rumble, it would have been a big story, but it would also have been lost in the shuffle of Triple H winning the title and AJ Styles making his debut. WWE don't want to give away too much at any one time.
