10 Reasons Dean Ambrose Is Better Than Roman Reigns
8. Jon Moxley Had A Following Before Dean Ambrose
If you see signs in the crowd referencing Jon Moxley, and wonder what they're talking about, they're talking about the "Lunatic Fringe" Dean Ambrose. Much like CM Punk and Daniel Bryan before him, Ambrose had a huge following in the indies as Jon Moxley. He gained his respect early on through promotions such as Full Impact Pro, Combat Zone Wrestling, and Dragon Gate USA. Under Jon Moxley, he obtained three total world championships in the indies, once in Full Impact Pro and twice in Combat Zone Wrestling. It was clear in his seven years in the indies (2004-2011) that he had the talent that the internet fans go nuts over. The persona of Jon Moxley is basically equal to the persona of Dean Ambrose, but obviously toned down a bit for the WWE. If you head to YouTube and do a search for Jon Moxley, you will see a lot of results of old indy matches and promos and will be entertained. As for Roman Reigns, he was manufactured purely in the WWE developmental system. His wrestling debut wasn't until 2010; whereas Ambrose started in 2004. Roman has definitely made a name for himself from his days in The Shield and after the group was broken up; however Ambrose has had a following for longer, and that has just grown exponentially now that he's a top star in the WWE.
