8. The Music
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2whh8LXdx-4 Today, Kane enters the arena with an unexpected blast of pyro. It takes the audience by surprise and momentarily stuns them. It is different and creates a sense of unpredictability but it is nowhere near as unique as the Big Red Monster had 17 years ago. Then, it was about building anticipation and fear. The building would go dark and the sound of an organ would fill the arena. Suddenly, a flash of pyro would explode, signaling the arrival of Kane. There was something about the sense of knowing the monster was coming but being able to do nothing about it as the organ counted down your demise. The simple explosion and cheesier horror-themed entrance music of today simply does not capture that feeling of dread the way the original did.
