10 Reasons Not To Lose Faith In NXT

1. Finn Bálor: NXT Champion Version 2.0

On 8 September 2020, Finn Bálor became only the third-man in history to win the NXT Championship on two separate occasions, joining Samoa Joe (the man who dethroned him the first time round) and Shinsuke Nakamura (the man who dethroned Joe) in the history books. The five years between reigns is also a record, although this timeframe may tell more of a story than the accomplishment itself.

NXT in 2020 is a very different place to the one that Bálor dominated in 2015 and 2016. The landscape has changed dramatically, both in the way the show is booked and the roster itself. Bálor's first reign took place during what many consider to be the glory years of NXT, but it is undeniable that the roster today is deeper than those halcyon days.

That opens up so many more doors for Finn Bálor as champion. In his first reign, Bálor only actually defended the title against Kevin Owens, Samoa Joe and Apollo Crews on TV, frequently putting the belt up for grabs on house shows against challengers like Baron Corbin, Tyler Breeze and Tye Dillinger. The list of potential challengers in 2020 is exponentially more exciting, more varied and more interesting.

Whisper it, but Finn Bálor's second NXT Championship reign could be a thousand times more exciting than his first.
