Once again stuck in a "assembled heels vs. assembled faces" situation, the match pitting Randy Orton and Kofi Kingston's teams at Survivor Series 2009 managed to be much more heated and intriguing than the previous year's bout. Kofi led a team consisting of Christian, MVP, R-Truth, and Mark Henry against Orton's team of CM Punk, Ted DiBiase, Cody Rhodes, and William Regal. This otherwise-perfunctory tag team match was bolstered the week before on the go-home RAW, in which the recently-de-Jamaicafied Kofi unleashed a relentless attack on Orton in front of Madison Square Garden, garnering him a huge reaction.

The match itself is mainly focused on the heat between Kingston and Orton, as most of the other competitors are dispatched of rather quickly to make way for Kofi to overcome the odds against the numbers advantage. Kofi spends several minutes battling CM Punk and Orton before eventually managing to get rid of Punk and deliver a swift, decisive victory over Orton to the jubilation of the crowd. By George, it may seem absurd now, but WWE actually knew how to book babyfaces once-upon-a-time!

Jokes aside, it says much about Randy's spot in the company at the time that he was able to put an up-and-coming star like Kingston over in such a way, and makes another memorable Survivor Series performance for the 'Viper'.
