It must be difficult to be WWE Champion if no one seems to care about you. I bet when Jinder Mahal won the title and faced the extreme apathy of the fans, Randy pulled him to the side and said "it's alright, mate, I was champion during the Nexus angle."
Despite John Cena's team burying the Nexus squadron at SummerSlam 2010, the group persisted, trying their hardest to undermine Big Match John at the peak of the SuperCena era. Needless to say, they were hardly successful, but Wade Barrett managed to coerce Cena into referring a title match between himself and Randy Orton for the latter's WWE title. The question now was whether or not Cena would call it down the middle, because if Barrett didn't win the title, Cena would be fired. This question was so prevalent, that the preceding video package was all about Cena and his moral quandary. A video package all about the referee. #LolCena
Regardless of Orton's third fiddle role in his own title defense, he still managed to once again successfully retain the WWE Championship at Survivor Series. This brought his record at the PPV to 6-2, and would be his last Survivor Series victory for a number of years, as he would hit a snag in the following traditional tag matches...
