10 Reasons Randy Orton Is "Mr. Survivor Series"

6. Survivor Series 2008

In 2008, Randy Orton gained some new frienemies. Aligning himself with second-generation superstars Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase Jr., the group that would become known as Legacy got off to a rocky start on account of Randy being an unstable psychopath who would attack his supposed allies.

After Orton took DiBiase out of commission for a few weeks, he and Cody were left to bicker and fight until you wondered when they would just kiss already. But such hot, steamy tension had to subside, as they were teamed together at that year's Survivor Series against the babyface team led by Batista.

Like many Survivor Series matches in this era, there wasn't much of a story behind the match, save for any of the individual feuds going in. It was just an assembly of heels vs. faces that just so happened to have some important subplots, the main one being the dynamic between Rhodes and Orton. Randy didn't actually have much involvement in the match itself, but his presence and coexistence with Cody took up much of the conversation on commentary.

Ultimately, despite their differences, Cody and Randy managed to be the sole survivors of their team after Randy delivered an RKO to former Evolution cohort Big Dave. This solidified Legacy's dominance as a unit, and put another notch on Randall's Survivor Series belt.
