10 Reasons Ric Flair Must Retire (For Good This Time)
The Nature Boy might want to finally let things go.....
We all love Ric Flair. Let's start by making that absolutely clear. Trying to find a wrestling fan who hasn't been fully entertained by the Nature Boy at some point is pretty much an impossible task, as we've all gasped, howled and 'WOO-ed' along with him throughout the years.
However, things have gone way too far for those of a more sensitive disposition, who currently spend segments of Raw hiding behind the sofa, petrified as to what may happen on screen during his increasingly surreal performances.
Sure, we all like a laugh, we all like some light hearted moments in our wrestling, but are we being given this, or are we simply stuck in a perpetual loop of Flair, transfixed by the glare of his bleached white hair and polished black shoes?
So, for the purposes of this list, let us cast aside the Ric Flair of old, and consider merely the Flair we are served up each week on Raw, and why we should think about actively encouraging ‘The Man’ to stick his feet up with a cup of tea each Monday, rather than shrieking his way down a ramp and into an American sports arena.
10. We're Worried About Your Health
We really are very worried Ric. Our main concerns are the colour your face turns on a weekly basis. It really doesn’t seem to take much anymore to turn your face the sort of blood red colour that would bring most doctors out in a sweat. It’s a massive concern to us all.
The last thing we want on a Monday night is to watch you collapse on us, mid –Wooo, and for us to have to watch you being carted off. We worry about you like we worry about our grandparents, and there’s absolutely no way we would allow grandpa to carry on in this manner, getting himself into such a state week in week out.
A few deep breaths and possibly taking a chair down to the ring with you may be a slight improvement, but really Ric, have a good think about what would happen if, say, Sasha Banks came flying over the top rope and connected full-on with you. Would you enjoy it? This writer’s grandmother got knocked down by slow moving car recently, and she didn’t enjoy that very much I can assure you.
You need to take better care of yourself Ric.
