10 Reasons The PG Era Isn't So Bad

7. The Women's Division Is Slowly Being Classed Up

There was a time not so long ago when every woman in the WWE was valued more for what she was packing in her lingerie than what she had to offer in the ring.

The Attitude Era, for example, didn't have female wrestlers. They had sexy valets who moonlighted in Bra and Panties matches when they weren't busy stripping down in the ring in other, somehow more degrading ways.

Like, oh, I don't know, crawling around on the ground and being forced to bark like a dog?

Now, there's nothing wrong with a woman on the roster flaunting her sex appeal. Besides, the female wrestlers these days aren't exactly wearing baggy sweatsuits to the ring. But dammit, can't we at least pretend they're in the company for any other reason besides "They look good in a thong"?

Today's "divas" may not be to the level of Lita or Trish Stratus, but the division as a whole is enjoying its most competitive, non-sexist streak since The Fabulous Moolah was on the active roster.

It's a slow process, to be sure, but it wouldn't be unreasonable to think the PG Era's dedication to bringing in more skilled ring technicians will pay off huge down the road.
