10 Reasons The PG Era Isn't So Bad

8. No More Controversy For The Sake Of Controversy

Snitsky punting a fake baby to mock Lita's miscarriage, Big Show going casket surfing, "Kane" having sex with a dead Katie Vick, Hot Lesbian Action that turns into the brutal dismantling of two tiny ladies by two giant dudes, the Live Sex Show...do you really need more examples of the type of tasteless storylines fans of WWE's bygone eras are supposedly still hankering for?

There was literally no point to any of it, and yet WWE kept throwing garbage like this against the wall in the hopes it would boost their ratings a couple of points. And sure, they got the gasps they wanted out of the audience most times, but none of it ever really paid off in the long run.

To be fair, there were a few genuinely thrilling storylines that just happened to offend certain groups of people (the Ministry of Darkness crucifixion and the "Brian Pillman's got a gun" angles immediately comes to mind), but more often than not they were seeking out controversy to bolster otherwise weak storytelling.

Fans frequently lambast the PG Era for being too vanilla or boring with its storylines, but at least we no longer have to endure anything like the Katie Vick incident.

Thank you, PG rating!
