10 Reasons The PG Era Isn't So Bad
2. The WWE Is A Safer Environment For Its Superstars
When looking at the flaws of the PG Era (of which there are many, no doubt), the one thing that's gravely overlooked is how much better this version of the product is for the long-term health of its participants.
We all loved watching people get pelted with chairs to the head and take giant bumps off the top of the cage on a nightly basis, but just ask Mick Foley and Terry Funk if they wish they could have gotten over with fewer dangerous spots.
The Wellness Program is a great idea, as well, even if it is just a way for Vince McMahon to cover his buns. Much like the NFL's concussion protocol, this is a necessary instrument in making sure unnecessary ill effects don't ruin the lives of these superstars down the road.
So we can hem and haw over the fact that we're seeing less bloodshed and lament how we may never see an epic piledriver ever again, but what's good for the longevity of your performers' health is good for the company and good for the fans.
