7. Theres An Interesting Clash Of Styles In The Tag Team Title Match
They say that styles make fights and the Team Title match set for NXT Takeover 2 has a very interesting styles clash on paper. On one hand you have the champions, The Ascension. The Ascension are the closest thing in tag team wrestling (on the main roster and developmental) to what the APA was. They are a bruising, no nonsense pair of bulls in a china shop, smashing and bashing everything that they come into contact with. Their entire run as NXT Tag Champs has featured them absolutely demolishing every opponent theyve come across, without as much as a scintilla of opposition. To say theyve been dominant would be an understatement. Their opponents for Thursday are a pair of high-flying, fast paced luchadors named Kalisto and Sin Cara. These guys couldnt be any more different than The Ascension. While The Ascension impresses with their nearly uncontrollable rage and unparalleled dominance, Sin Cara and Kalisto (primarily the latter) have impressed with the sheer difficulty of their maneuvers as well as the pace they keep during their matches. Maybe this match wont be the best on the card, and maybe it will just be another Ascension annihilation, but maybe, just maybe, this match will be the David vs. Goliath (or Davids vs Goliaths) story it has the potential of being.
