10 Reasons WCW Spring Stampede 2000 Was Wrestling’s Most Over-Booked PPV Ever

5. The Ref Bumped During Jimmy Hart Vs. Mancow

A top radio personality in the Chicago area, Matthew Muller used the name 'Mancow' to great effect. Popular as a shock-jock style host, Mancow somehow also ended up wrestling a handful of matches in WCW. Both of them came against Jimmy Hart, and neither one was particularly entertaining.

It was almost as though WCW figured they could throw anybody out there and fans would buy it, but the short bout was absolutely horrible. It's not a good thing when a 2-minute match feels like it takes an eternity to finish.

Obviously, neither Hart nor Mancow were skilled performers inside the ring, so they needed some shortcuts to see them through. Interference aplenty, weapon shots and ref bumps were all aspects of the showdown. Mancow's victory did receive a modest pop, but there was no real reason to book any of this in the first place on an already-stacked card.

After the match, Billy Kidman made his way down to the ring and hammered Jimmy Hart. Supposedly, this was sending a message to Hulk Hogan, even though Hart had been portraying a heel during the match against Mancow.
