10 Reasons WCW Spring Stampede 2000 Was Wrestling’s Most Over-Booked PPV Ever

3. Ongoing Nonsense Between Hulk Hogan And Billy Kidman

As aforementioned, Hulk Hogan interfered in Billy Kidman's match against Vampiro. This cost Kidman his place in the WCW United States Title tournament, because Vampiro willingly pinned Billy to advance. That fact made little sense, because Kidman and Vampiro were supposedly running buddies in The New Blood.

Shouldn't Vampiro have attacked Hogan, looking to save his stablemate from a member of The Millionaire's Club? The logic of the rivalry was all over the place, and it wasn't really serving the intended purpose of making Kidman look like a bigger deal. Feuding with Hulk Hogan (even in 2000 WCW) should have been huge for the Cruiserweight, but he continually looked out his depth.

Meanwhile backstage, Vince Russo and Eric Bischoff went nuts over the arrival of Hogan. In one of the most barmy skits of the entire show, they had the police pull guns on Hulk and threaten to arrest him. Things got completely out of hand in a hurry, there was little focus on actually getting Billy Kidman over.
