10 Reasons Why WWE Peaked In The Year 2000

6. The Arrival Of The Radicals Made Everybody Better

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nl6iMbCemao Four guys jumped to WWE in January of 2000. Not just any four guys, though. They were four guys that were under-appreciated in WCW that had so much talent. It was one of the last significant jumps during the Monday Night Wars era. Why would WCW let four talented guys just quit like that? Because they were idiots, that's why. The four talents that went from WCW to WWE were Chris Benoit (who had just been WCW World Champion), Eddie Guerrero, Dean Malenko and Perry Saturn. The four of them asked to leave at the same time and WWE was able to quickly pick them up. Their debut took place on a Raw in January when they were in the crowd, got into a brawl and everybody absolutely loved it. They were known as The Radicals (or Radicalz since WWE loved adding Z's to everything). Any time you can add four quality performers like that you have to do it. Kudos to WWE for not only having the sense to sign them up quickly, but to also use them the right way as soon as they got there. This also happened about four months after Chris Jericho jumped from WCW to WWE as a free agent, so it was a sign that WWE was winning the war running away by adding so many great midcard talents from WCW. The addition of all of them made the match quality in the company rise. Everybody knows that Benoit and Guerrero went on to become World Champions. Malenko didn't wrestle much longer because he was older by that point, but he's been working as an agent in WWE for over a decade now. Saturn was booked poorly mostly as a comedy guy. He's a bit of an aloof guy, but he did have an immediate impact as part of the group. The addition of the Radicals was another smart move by WWE and another nail in the coffin for WCW.
