Daniel Bryan When the BBC News is reporting on the WWE messing up, you know Vince McMahon has really pulled a blooper this time. The decision for Daniel Bryan to NOT EVEN FEATURE in the Royal Rumble 2014 matchup has been greeted with apocalyptic reactions from wrestling fans (albeit they will no doubt tune in again tonight on Raw). Even former superstar Mick Foley has taken to social media to express his F word led sentiments that WWE hates its fans. Strong stuff. The reason for all this commotion is that the ignored Daniel Bryan is undoubtedly the biggest star in pro wrestling for a very long time ... arguably the most over star since Steve Austin in the Attitude Era. Don't believe me? Just listen to the reactions he gets. YES, YES, YES and chants of DANIEL BRYAN fill the arena wherever he appears. Everyone stands up and points to the sky when Bryan comes out. He is now so over that he doesn't even need to be competing to get cheered - fans chanted Daniel Bryan through the WWE Title and Royal Rumble match last night. It is puzzling then that WWE decided to have Bryan lose clean to Bray Wyatt in the PPV opening bout last night. He didn't even get put in the Rumble. This was a travesty, the story made perfect sense for the most popular wrestler in the world to enter and win the Rumble in order to achieve his dream of reigning as WWE Champion. It's what the fans wanted. Maybe WWE didn't go with that scenario because they have something bigger in mind. Vince McMahon is a billionaire for a reason after all ... he more often than not calls it right as a businessman foremost. Nevertheless, there is every indication that last night WWE made their biggest creative error in a generation. Not since 2001 and the ill advised Steve Austin heel turn have they got it so wrong. That Austin moment killed the Attitude Era (compounded by the bundled WCW invasion) and I put forth that Daniel Bryan's none Rumble moment is the biggest WWE creative mistake since that fateful 2001 day. Let's take a look at the disaster ...
